Entering units of measure as m² and m³
Do you know that you can utilise one of the hidden features of Windows and use a keyboard shortcut to superscript the 2 and 3 when describing the unit of measure (UOM) of m² and m³?
It’s really easy to do, looks professional and you can use this hint in most, if not all windows based applications – and if you maintain your website in-house it even works in HTML.
Type the”m” then hold down the left ALT key on your keyboard, type 0178 on the keypad, release the alt key and windows inserts the ² for you. (m[Left Alt]0178)
The same process for m³. Type the”m” then hold down the left ALT key on your keyboard, type 0179 on the keypad, release the alt key and windows inserts the ³ for you. (m[Left Alt]0179)
The same process can be used to add the Degree symbol (°) to describe a roof pitch – as in 20° Pitch Roof. (20[Left ALT]0176).
Why not give it a try!
